Once again the injury bug was active during Week 6. The Packers may have lost All-Pro QB Aaron Rodgers for the season while the Buccaneers may or may not miss sometime. But we’re not looking at the quarterback position. Be sure to follow up on injury reports throughout the week on many of the banged up players from Week 6. Here are a few guys that may be intriguing starts/pickups this week:
Jaguars RB Chris Ivory
Star RB Leonard Fournette sprained his ankle late against the Rams Sunday. Reports early on are that he’ll play vs. Colts this weekend but that’s a bit quick of an update. Watch closely at what kind of a participant he is during practice this week. Ivory found pay dirt Sunday and hauled in a surprising 9 catches. Have Ivory ready to go if Fournette suffers any setbacks.
Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson
Lead WR Tyreek Hill was injured in the 4th quarter during a punt return Sunday. Heading down the sideline, Hill took on two Steeler defenders at/near the head and exited the game. It was revealed postgame that Hill did not suffer a concussion which is encouraging. However, if something else is bothering him, the Chiefs have a short week playing the Raiders Thursday night. With Chris Conley already out, if Hill can’t go as well, Demarcus Robinson should see a fair share of targets from Alex Smith.
Lions WRs Marvin Jones & Kenny Golladay
Golden Tate suffered a shoulder injury during the 3rd quarter Sunday and is expected to miss a few weeks. In his absence, Marvin Jones picked up the slack. Jones isn’t the most hidden name but he’s actually currently owned in just 55% of Yahoo leagues so there’s a chance he’s available. Jones was targeted 14 times catching 6 balls for 96 yards and a touchdown, his best performance of the year. The real intriguing play is preseason superstar Kenny Golladay. Golladay has missed 3 straight weeks but he did get in 3 limited practices this week which is encouraging as the Lions head into their bye week. I expect Golladay to be ready to go the week after vs the Steelers. If Tate is still out, Golladay makes for an interesting start. He’s currently owned in just 16% of Yahoo leagues.
